What to Expect on Production Day with Sherwood Media

Sherwood Media is coming to film, and we are so excited to give you a production experience that is empowering, efficient, and fun!

Here is some general information about what you can expect when we come to film you.

How long will we be filming?

Our production days last up to 8 hours. This includes load-in and set up.

What do we need when we arrive?

All we need is access to the filming location, either a key code, hide-a-key under a ceramic turtle, or someone to let us in. Once we load in and begin setting up equipment, we may need to shift/move furniture and decor. After filming, we do our best to return the filming area to its original state.

Can I post photos of you and the crew on social media?

Yes please! Be sure to tag us @sherwoodmedia because we’d love to share it too!

What about lunch?

Our crew is happy to feed ourselves! We also enjoy coordinating with the client a catering option so we can eat together and keep rolling a little faster.

What should I wear?

My number 1 suggestion is to wear something that you feel great wearing! Beyond that, here are a couple tips:

  1. Bring options: The outfit you have in mind may look great on you, but may clash with the colors and style of the location where we film. It’s always a good idea to have a backup outfit!

  2. Avoid patterns: Large paisley, or tiny prints may look great in person, but they can really clash on camera. Solid colors tend to be a much safer option.

  3. Avoid a color that closely matches your skin tone.

What should I do to practice what I’ll say ahead of time?

You may be wondering when you’ll get a list of interview questions. While we have a policy of not giving out questions ahead of time, we always encourage founders and storytellers to jot down important dates and facts in case they need to be referenced on camera. MOST importantly, think about what gets you excited about the work you do. Let the marketing script fall away, and return to your heart and passion.

When can I see the video?

I know it’s so hard to wait to see the footage after a great production day! Trust me, we are eager to see the finished video too! Usually, the editing process takes several weeks. This is because the first cut we show you is meant to be as close to a “final cut” as possible. We go ahead and fine-tune the editing, colors and sound so you don’t have to do any guesswork about what your finished video will look and sound like.
