Over the last 10 years, I've worked on all types of video projects including big productions in Hollywood, weddings, music videos, international documentaries, and how-to videos.
But did you know that my FAVORITE projects are actually the videos I create for businesses and organizations?
I love capturing the stories of dreamers, innovators, and problem-solvers. I want them to have great video that helps them stand out, and clearly communicate what they do and why they do it. I want their video content to help them reach their audience and make a lasting impression.
Here are my top three reasons why I LOVE creating video content for businesses:
1. I believe it is profoundly important to speak your story out loud.
Reminding ourselves of our story, our values, and our dreams is powerful in establishing brand identity.
I know what it's like to have a moment of inspiration, jotting down your mission statement on a notepad and moving on. All those great catch phrases and key words tend stay right there on that paper and forgotten. Let's say a week later, someone asks you about your business. You freeze. Where should you start? What facts are important? How does what you do solve a problem for your client?
I work with clients all the time to help them tell their story on video. It's amazing what happens when clients watch themselves tell their story out loud. The excitement that helped launch their business is remembered, and now they have a product (video) that captures what they do with confidence and clear messaging. It's shareable, it's consistent, and it's engaging.
2. I know how much courage it takes to be on camera.
Maybe you've never been in front of the camera like this before. Maybe you're not sure what you would say. Maybe you've tried making a video before, but were not happy with the results. I GET IT.
Trusting someone to create video for your business can be a huge hurdle to overcome.
You want to KNOW that when it all comes together, that you look and sound great, that the video clearly communicates your vision and brand, and that your audience connects with the content.
I love helping coach my clients through their interview because I know it is so much easier to tell your story when you feel like the person behind the camera is really listening. I love asking questions to help my clients dig a little deeper, and make sure that their story doesn't have any gaps or holes. When we can establish that trust in the interview, that's when the video really shines.
3. There's no one-size-fits-all solution - a tailored approach to video for businesses is a requirement.
No two stories have the same production needs, so my approach to every project is tailored to the client. For example, I wouldn't approach a video for a down-home, mom-and-pop bakery with the same style or format as a sleek and urban tech firm.
Because of this, I am always learning and growing creatively, and I love it!
It's important to remember that YOU are why your business is unique. The experience and skills YOU bring to your work are important, and should be highlighted. And the video content you create will reflect on your brand, period. By investing in quality video content, you can establish and even grow your brand.
Let me help you tell your story. I can't wait to see you shine.
